Hundreds of UofL students turned out for the event.
In the past, the students have collected more than 2,000 blankets during the event.
All of the blankets will be distributed to Louisville's homeless population.

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Hundreds of UofL students
stepped up to help Louisville's homeless population during the cold winter
months.
The students volunteered at the Salvation
Army's Male Campus on Saturday to collect thousands of blankets for the
homeless.
"A
blanket to a homeless person really can save a life," said University of
Louisville volunteer Tyler Mattingly. "One
of our mottos is to give warmth. It
doesn't cost a lot of money. and it could save a homeless person's life."
The event has collected more than 2,000
blankets in the past.
