BOWLING GREEN, KY (WAVE) – The first terrorism case in Kentucky will come to an end Tuesday for one of the men accused of scheming to get weapons to insurgents in Iraq.

Mohanad Shareef Hammadi will be sentenced by a federal judge in Bowling Green.

Hammadi's lawyer is trying to avert a life sentence by arguing the FBI specifically targeted his client and provided higher grade-weapons when an informant working for the federal government recruited him.

Hammadi has pled guilty to lying about his background when he came to the United States as a refugee and of providing help to a foreign terrorist organzation.

His lawyer is hoping for a 15 year sentence.
