Bridge project to move historic homes

JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) - Five southern Indiana homes in the path of the new Ohio River Bridges Project will be moved as part of a settlement agreement.

The agreement between the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the conservation group River Fields, and Indiana and Kentucky transportation officials dedicates nearly $2 million to a historic preservation and enhancement fund.

The goal is to use the homes, which were built between the late 1800s and 1930, to fill in vacant lots near or in the historic district.
