Domestic run turns into arson investigation

Posted: Updated:

JEFFERSONTOWN, KY (WAVE) – Police responding to a domestic run found flames at a home in Jeffersontown.

Firefighters were called to the 2400 block of Swing Drive just after 8:35 p.m. Monday after police discovered a large amount of fire coming from the house.

It was originally thought someone was trapped inside the burning home. That concern brought extra fire crews to the scene.

Jodie Imel, fire marshal for Jeffersontown, said the additional personnel were needed to search the home for anyone trapped and setup equipment and supply water to fight the flames.

A search of the home found no one inside.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the rear of the home. Arson investigators are looking for the cause of the fire.
