Cyclo-Cross competitors hit course despite temperatures

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Despite the freezing temperatures hundreds of international guests are preparing for the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships.

The races are taking place at Eva Bandman Park and Champions Park on River Road.

This year marks the first time in the events 63 Year history the championship is being held outside of Europe.

Reigning World Champion Niels Albert is hoping for a repeat victory in Louisville on Sunday.

He wasn't able to get in a practice run on the course Wednesday because of the weather, which is making him anxious, but he said he is enjoying the Louisville, "We enjoy the country we can ride lost of nice rounds here we have lots of friends here for a moment here in Louisville."
