LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A crash on Interstate 65 involving a semi was just one of many accidents being worked Thursday night by police around WAVE Country.
According to MetroSafe, a report was received about a jackknifed semi in the southbound lanes of I-65 around Fern Valley Road at 9:47 p.m. A supervisor said three of the four lanes are blocked and traffic was being diverted before reaching the accident scene.
In Hardin County, Officer Bryce Shumate of the Radcliff Police Department reports the snow caused near whiteout conditions and the roads are extremely slick and hazardous.
MetroSafe said the interstates in Jefferson County are in poor shape. Drivers were asked to stay off the roads to allow salt trucks to treat the roadways.
Metro Police instructed drivers involved in a non-injury accidents to exchange information and submit an accident report on a state-supplied accident form.
