Dog euthanized due to abuse

OWENSBORO, KY (WAVE) - Police make a gruesome discovery in Owensboro while serving a warrant. Authorities searching the suspect's home say they found an extremely malnourished dog.

The dog, named Quill by rescuers, was taken immediately to the vet where doctors discovered his back was broken.

Quill was brought to a vet in Louisville, but his injuries were so severe he had to be euthanized.

The search continues for the owner of the dog.
