LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Police are looking for suspects after a double shooting that left one man dead and another injured.
Around 12:30 Sunday afternoon, Louisville Metro Police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1800 block of Frankfort Avenue. When they arrived on the scene they discovered two men with gunshot wounds.
Both men were rushed to University of Louisville Hospital, where one of the men was pronounced dead.
Community Activist Christopher 2X said the shooting who survived is a 27-year-old man from Liberia. 2x said Sunday night the man underwent surgery and was listed in stable condition.
Neighbor Delores Glover was shocked the shooting happened in what she referred to as a quiet neighborhood, "I feel sorry for whoever it is but usually this is a very quiet neighborhood."
2X said gun violence is an issue that impacts the entire city, regardless if a shooting is fatal or not, "Even with nine shootings and not a lot of fatalities. I feel there is still a big problem with the whole issue of gun violence."
The names of the victims in this case have not been released. If you have any information in the case you are asked to call the anonymous LMPD tip line at (502) 574-LMPD.
