LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - New information is scheduled to be released after a deadly fire and explosion in Rubbertown.

In March 2011, an electric arc furnace over-pressured and released powdered debris, hot gases and molten calcium carbide at Carbide Industries.

Two workers, Steve Nichols, 59, and Jorge "Louis" Medina, 56, died within hours from burn injuries.

A public meeting will be held 6:30 Thursday, February 7 at the Seelbach Hotel to tell more about the investigation into the explosion.
