Kevin Alvarez (Source Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center)Police have arrested a Columbia man after finding him partially clothed with a 12-year-old girl in the back of his car Monday morning, according to Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott.
Kevin Felix Alvarez, 24, is charged with second degree criminal sexual conduct with
a minor.
Alvarez is accused of having
sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old girl.
The child told police that she
is familiar with Alvarez and asked him for a ride to a specific location.
Officers found a car at the
back of vacant residence at 3014 Columbia Avenue shortly after 7 a.m. It was a different location from where the victim requested to be dropped off, police said.
When police discovered the two inside the car, the suspect and victim were
partially clothed, according to investigators.
Alvarez and
the minor allegedly slept in the car overnight.
Alvarez was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn
Detention Center.
The minor was transported to a
local hospital before being released to her mother.
