ST. MATTHEWS, KY (WAVE) - Two police officers were injured after a fight broke out at Mall St. Matthews.
Around 8 p.m. on Feb. 1, Mall St. Matthews security officers were called to a store on a report that a man was using fraudulent credit cards. Officers located Yoel Salabarria, 36, on the food court and attempted to question him. They said Salabarria became combative and tried to flee to the restroom.
The arrest report says when officers tried to restrain Salabarria, things escalated in a "full-blown fight."
The report states Salabarria used the cards to buy more than $1,000 worth of products from "The Buckle" and "Victoria's Secret."
The security officers suffered minor injuries.
Salabarria is charged with two counts of assault, nine counts of possession of a forged instrument, and two counts of theft by deception.
