Unconscious woman charged with endangering child

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - An Okolona mother is behind bars after police say she put her child in danger.

Officers responded to a home on Okolona Terrace on a call that a woman was not breathing. Police said they found Ashley Plunkett unresponsive next to a syringe containing heroin residue.

According to police, Plunkett's 6-week-old child was also in the room.

Plunkett was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, wanton endangerment and with drug charges.
