LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – WAVE 3 News Anchor/Reporter Connie Leonard and Sports Director Kent Taylor announced this news on WAVE 3 a few months ago, but now they're sharing it with an even wider audience in The Voice-Tribune: they became proud parents nearly six months ago with the birth of their daughter Emerson Mackenzie Taylor.

Married since 1999, Kent and Connie spent years trying to have a baby naturally, through in vitro fertilization and finally via adoption. After an agonizing ten-year wait, their dream of becoming parents finally came true with the birth of Emerson in August 2012.

Emerson was born in Pennsylvania to a couple that felt ill-equipped to raise her themselves.

Their adoption journey was the reason many WAVE 3 viewers noticed the Taylors' extended absence from the airwaves late last summer.
