Massive winter storm disrupting air travel

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A massive winter storm headed for the Northeast United States already is disrupting air travel.

United Airlines canceled more than 350 flights scheduled for Friday in anticipation of the storm, which is predicted to dump up to two feet of snow in parts of the Northeast. American Airlines scrapped dozens more Friday flights.

Newark Liberty, Chicago O'Hare and Boston Logan Airports have canceled the most flights.

The biggest weather problems on Thursday were in Chicago.

The National Weather Service has posted blizzard warnings for New York City and its suburbs, Boston, much of lower New England, and parts of New Jersey.
