Memorial planned for Ohio Players frontman

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A memorial celebration is planned in College Hill for a local funk legend.

Ohio Players frontman Leroy "Sugarfoot" Bonner passed away on January 27 at the age of 69.

On Saturday, Feb. 9th, Bootsy Collins will host a celebration of Sugarfoot's life at the House of Joy on Hamilton Avenue in Cincinnati.

The celebration will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Proclamations from the State of Ohio & the City of Cincinnati will be presented.

Bootsy Collins, along with some of the original Ohio Players, will speak.
