Lawmakers considering lifting alcohol ban

Posted: Updated:

FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) - Lawmakers are once again considering lifting a prohibition-era ban on the sale of alcohol at restaurants, bars and retail stores on election day.

A senate committee has already given initial approval to bill.

Kentucky and South Carolina are the only two states with such bans in place. Indiana dropped its ban as of the Novembers 2012 elections.

Similar measures have been filed in Kentucky in past years, but they have all failed.
