As a new resident of the River City, Sherrell is excited to learn and experience all the community has to offer.
She was born and raised in "Motown," aka Detroit, MI, and she is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago, having earned a bachelor of arts degree in broadcast journalism with a concentration in television.
Sherrell joined the WAVE 3 News team in January 2013 as a general assignment reporter.
Before she was in front of the camera, Sherrell was a news writer at WGN-TV in Chicago and did production work for Free Spirit Media and The Africa Channel's Soundtracks at Red Kiva.
She made her on camera news debut at WFFT in Fort Wayne, Indiana where she wore many hats including anchor, producer and multimedia journalist.
Sherrell is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. Her motto for reporting is "Lead with the people. They have a story to tell, and someone somewhere needs to hear it."
When Sherrell is not reporting, you can probably catch her listening to music or out trying out local restaurants.
