LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A driver zipped past oncoming cars, across a parking lot and into the front of a Louisville store. It happened Thursday night at an appliance store on St. Andrews Church Road and surveillance cameras were rolling as it all happened.

Anthony's Appliance assistant manager Tina Woods wasn't there to see it happen. Instead the owner casually slipped it into a late-night phone call to her home.

"As we was finishing up our conversation he was like, 'Oh, we've got a vehicle sitting in our shop. Can you get down there?'" Woods said. "So I drove on down and well and behold ... I thought he was joking."

Then Woods saw the car, sitting between an oven and a washing machine, in the middle of the store.

"You ever heard dynamite go off?" said J. R., who lives upstairs. "Ok, that's what it sounded like ... It shook the building. I thought I was going to have to take another shower."

He wasn't sure what had happened.

"When I come downstairs and come out the door and turned this-a-way and I seen the whole front of it gone and I said, 'What the...?'" J. R. said.

He came down just in time to see the driver crawling out of her wrecked car, "all bleeding, busted up ... She lives close by so she had to have known that the road don't go straight through."

Woods is still tallying up the damage - easily in the thousands of dollars - and cleaning up. All the while, she's keeping Anthony's now-replacement doors open.

"Business as usual," she said.  "We've got our loyal customers that come in."

The driver of the car, Destiny Abell, 20, was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence.  A police report says she admitted to smoking marijuana.
