Fire destroys home, damages neighboring house

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville home was destroyed after catching fire overnight.

The fire started around 4 a.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of Garland Avenue.

According to fire crews, the home that caught fire is a complete loss and the fire also caused minor damage to a home next door.

Battalion Chief Major Jason Brandt explained,"It's going to probably be a complete loss. The fire extended all the way through the attic."

No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
