A former candidate for the Kentucky Senate is facing OVI charges.

James 'Jim' Noll, 43, was pulled over and arrested by Fort Mitchell Police around 3 a.m. on Wednesday. Authorities say they also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his car.

He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving and operating a vehicle under the influence.

Noll, a Democrat, was a candidate for the 23rd district of the Kentucky Senate, which covers northern Kenton County. He lost in the November election to Chris McDaniel.

Noll is also a former Villa Hills councilman and currently works as an attorney in Northern Kentucky.

On Wednesday, he posted bond.
