Buying an entire child's wardrobe at a consignment sale

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE)- At KidStuff, a consignment sale that's all about finding bargains and making money, moms are taking home wardrobes that will clothe their child for an entire season.

"Retail, each one could be about $500," says organizer Stephanie Otterbach, "But here what you've selected is 100 dollars for the boy and a hundred for the girl."

KidStuff Consignment Sale started in Suzette Decker's garage 15 years ago and has now expanded to three huge venues a year. The first is at New Albany at the National Guard Armory on Grant Line Road.

If you're looking to shop, you'll find everything imaginable for babies and children.  But if your looking to make some money too you can expect about a 75 percent profit.  A lot of moms are doing it.

"It's about 1,100 a season" Decker says, "Between the three venues and we also have a tagging service, so we have another segment of moms we tag for them."

New Albany's location is open through Saturday.  The next is at the Ramada Conference Center March 21-24 and finally in Oldham County at the YMCA Indoor Soccer Arena April 18-20.
