BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Purdue coach Matt Painter has repeatedly explained what it takes to be competitive in the Big Ten this season -- heart, discipline and a relentless work ethic.
He didn't see those traits a little more than two weeks ago when the young Boilermakers suffered the most lopsided home loss in school history, 97-60 to rival Indiana, and he hasn't seen it consistently all season.
If it's not there Saturday when the Boilermakers visit No. 1 Indiana, Painter may feel like he's watching a replay from the first game.
For Purdue, the rematch is an opportunity to see how far it's come since the blowout.
To Indiana, the game has more significance. A win will keep it atop the Big Ten standings.
