A man and his dog were rescued by emergency workers from a pond Saturday afternoon, after falling through the ice.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, it happened on Dogwood Lane in Bedford Township.
The family was playing fetch with their dog, Wynne, when she ran out onto the ice and fell through.
Edward Jefferson, 54, put on a waterproof suit and attempted to rescue Wynne, but fell through the ice as well.
Jefferson's wife called 911.
Firefighters put a ladder into the water, allowing Jefferson to climb out with his dog.
Jefferson suffered minor injuries, but neither he nor his dog was seriously hurt.
