Pedestrian killed in traffic accident identified

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A pedestrian who was hit by a car and killed has been identified.

According to Coroner Sam Weakly, Louis Carlisle, 53, was hit on Dixie Highway and Watson Lane at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Carlisle was pronounced dead at the scene. The car involved did stop and Louisville Metro Police did talk to the driver.

LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said the man hit was wearing dark clothes and was crossing in the middle of the block. Mitchell said charges against the driver of the car are not expected.

A toxicology report for the driver was negative.

Tuesday would have been Carlisle's 54th birthday.
