LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A large house fire kept firefighters from three departments busy Tuesday evening.
Worthington firefighters were called to 10000 block of Ivybridge Circle just before 4:30 p.m. According to Captain Kevin Jump, the Worthington public information officer, the homeowner noticed the fire and was able to get out of the house safely.
Jump said it took the first crews about five minutes to get to the scene, but the fire as huge and had a head start. Crews were also hampered by the strong winds and getting enough water on the fire. Jump said a St. Matthews fire unit was called in to pump water from a hydrant on Springhurst Blvd.
In addition to St. Matthews, firefighters from Harrods Creek also helped fight the fire. No one was injured, firefighters were on the scene for some time looking for hot spots.
