Suspect accused of shooting man home with wife, child arrested

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The man accused of shooting and killing a Louisville father in front of his wife and child has been arrested.

Louisville Metro Police Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell, confirmed Darrell Jackson was arrested on Wednesday.

Homicide detectives said Jackson shot Michael Chester, 27, in his apartment, located on Saddlebrook Court, after Chester opened his apartment door.

Chester's daughter and wife were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting.

Chester was transported to University Hospital where he died at 9:10 p.m. Monday night.

Detectives said the shooting was not random and there were no signs of forced entry.

Jackson is expected in court on Thursday.
