LEXINGTON, KY (WAVE) - Hundreds of gallons of gas was stolen from a Kentucky gas station.
In January, a security camera at an unmanned Marathon station in Lexington captured a man pumping thousands of dollars worth of diesel into a Ford box truck.
Investigators believe the truck had a false bottom, allowing it to hold a lot of fuel.
Lexington Police Department Spokeswoman Sherrelle Roberts explained, "We see those sorts of things quite often, where people drive off or siphon gasoline but to see an individual or a group of individuals stealing more than 600 gallons of gasoline, that is highly unusual."
The suspect got away with about 662 gallons, valued at more than $2,700, in a matter of minutes.
