JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) – Police are searching for a husband who allegedly shot his wife.
According to Jeffersonville police, at 1:00 a.m. Thursday a woman was shot in the 800 block of Colonial Park Drive.
Police said the woman came home and her husband Frederick Miller, 41, began arguing with her in front of their three children ages 3, 2 and 1.
Todd Hollis with the Jeffersonville Police department said, "She attempted to flee with the children out a window of the apartment. He was able to drag her back into the apartment and when she tried to avoid him or get out of the way he shot her twice."
The woman told police Miller shot her twice in the leg before fleeing the home.
Neighbors were able to transport the woman to an area hospital after the shooting.
Investigators said the victim is speaking to them and her injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
Police are searching for Miller. The children are safe.
