Weapon found in teenage inmates cell

BROWN COUNTY, IN (WAVE) - An Indiana teenager serving a 30 year prison sentence is facing new charges behind bars.

In 2009, Blade Reed, 17, pleaded guilty to an adult felony charge for his role in a 2008 home invasion that killed an 84-year-old man and badly hurt his wife.

Now, Reed is charged with a felony for allegedly creating a weapon from part of the fence at the Wabash Correction Facility.

Court records said another inmate told guards about the piece of metal and that Reed was using to threaten others.

The seven inch medal rod which was sharpened to a point was found in his cell.
