Cherokee Parkway crash victim identified

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The man killed in an early morning traffic accident has been identified.

According to deputy coroner Larry Carroll, Christopher J. Marti, 29, died from multiple injuries he suffered in the crash.

Dwight Mitchell, a Louisville Metro Police spokesperson, said the SUV being driven by Marti was heading north in the 2500 block of Cherokee Parkway shortly before 3 a.m. when it lost control, hitting a pole and a tree.

Marti was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation by the Louisville Metro Police traffic unit.
