WOODFORD COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - Dozens of dead animals were discovered inside a barn and investigators are trying to determine what caused their deaths.

Animals including cats, dogs, horses chickens and donkeys were dead in the barn. People who went inside said it is the worst scene they have ever seen.

The property is leased by Cheryl Jefferson.

Animal Control Supervisor Susan Jones said, "She's stating some of the horses passed from botulism. Some of the dogs passed from parvo."
