The oldest free Shakespeare Festival in the United States will continue to hold performances in Central park.
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The oldest free Shakespeare Festival
in the United States will continue to hold performances in Central park this
summer.
The organization for the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival
nearly had to cancel the 2013 season because of fundraising shortfalls, until two
major philanthropists stepped in at the last minute to keep the festival
afloat.
Festival organizers say they are working on a more
sustainable plan to keep the it running for years to come.
