Mahmoud Hindi
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The man
accused of killing two members of a homeowners association missed a court
hearing on Monday because he was hospitalized after a scuffle with corrections
officers Saturday night.
A jail spokesperson said Mahmoud Hindi
was "being argumentative" with the officers while in his cell prior to scuffle.
Hindi was taken to a hospital on Sunday after complaining of injuries he
suffered during the incident.
A judge cited "health issues" as the
reason Hindi missed his scheduled court appearance on Monday.
Hindi, a former doctor, is awaiting
trial for the September 2012 shooting deaths. Investigators say he had been
having property disputes with his homeowners association and fatally shot the
two association members during a meeting at a church.
