Louisville man charged in dog deaths

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man accused of leaving his dogs outside in the cold to die is facing animal cruelty charges.

An anonymous tip led officers to the home of Devlon Smith on Hemlock Street in the Park DuValle neighborhood. Officers said they found two deceased pit bulls chained to their dog house.

Police said the dogs died from hypothermia and starvation.

Smith is charged with torture of a dog.
