duPont Manual grad killed in crash near Murray State

MURRAY, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville native was killed in a car crash Saturday near Murray State University where she was a student.

According to police, Shelby Theiss, 20, was crossing a bridge on Saturday when she lost control of her car and slammed into an oncoming vehicle.

Investigators said slick road conditions likely were to blame. Thiess, a duPont Manual High School graduate, was wearing her seatbelt but died at the scene.
