Dead dogs discovered in man's yard

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man is facing animal cruelty charges after police discovered two dead dogs on his property.

An anonymous tip led officers to the home of Delvon Smith, 23, on Hemlock Street in the Park Duvalle neighborhood.

When officers arrived, they found two deceased female pit bulls chained up to their dog house. According to officers the water bowel was frozen and no food was present.

Police said the dogs died from hypothermia and starvation.

Smith is charged with two felony counts of animal torture.
