The puppies had to have embedded collars surgically removed.
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE)
– Two puppies are recovering with a foster family after being found in poor
conditions.
Officials with Louisville
Metro Animal Services said the two 13-month-old labs had to have surgery to
remove severely embedded collars. LMAS also released photos of the abuse, one of which was too graphic to publish.
"Unfortunately,
we deal with these tragedies on a daily basis," said LMAS Director Justin
Scally. "It is our responsibility to hold people accountable for the care
and protection of their animals. If they don't comply, their actions will not
be tolerated."
Joshua Jones, 32, is
charged with cruelty to animals and provisions of necessities in the case.
