Sex offender investigation leads to drug bust, 4 arrests

AURORA, IN (FOX19) -

An investigation into a registered sex offender led to a drug bust and four arrests in Aurora.

On March 3, Aurora Police received word from a concerned citizen that Joshua Howe, 26, a registered sex offender, was living within 1000 feet of the Lollipops and Rainbows day care.

When officers arrived at the residence, the found evidence of marijuana packaged for sale and delivery and multiple items of marijuana usage inside the residence.

Officers also found three children, ages 10, 7 and 6, who were released to a family member.

Howe was charged with maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and sex offender registry offense.

In addition, police also arrested Felicia Brightwell, 27, for maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, dealing in marijuana and neglect of a dependant; Jason Bice, 27, for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia and Steven Wirthlin, 43, for possession of paraphernalia and visiting a common nuisance.
