Louisville was named America's Most Livable City last year
by none other than the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
Impressive recognition and fostered in part by the
initiative begun last year by Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer called Give a Day.
That effort is being reprised as an annual event of the
Kentucky Derby Festival for an entire week
before Derby to kick off the Derby Festival.
Many local non-profit agencies need volunteer help. So do many other civic groups, schools and
We encourage participation. The event runs from April 13 to 21
and sign up for project participation is underway now at www.mygiveaday.com.
WAVE 3 will also be involved in a Kentucky Gives initiative
on April 24. It is a one-day online
giving event organized by the Kentucky Nonprofit Network to bring together
nonprofits and donors across the state in an efficient way that raises
significant money for many worth causes.
All 501(c)(3) registered charities in Kentucky are eligible. They just need to register at the Kentucky
Gives website to participate.
