LMPD: Mother drove while high with son in car

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville mother is accused of driving under the influence while her four-year-old son was in the car.

Investigators say Megan Eckenfels hit two parked cars on Broadway near downtown Louisville late Thursday night, and then drove off. An officer spotted her vehicle a few blocks away, checking the damage to her car. Eckenfels' son was not injured in the crash.

Police say Eckenfels admitted to having smoked the synthetic drug "Spice" prior to the accident.

Eckenfels is charged with DUI, wanton endangerment and hit and run.
