Priest from Louisville will be in Rome when new pope is elected

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Roman Catholic priest from Louisville is in Rome, awaiting the election of a new pope.

Fr. Peter Massengill works at the Franciscan headquarters in Rome just a few blocks from where the conclave of cardinals will choose Pope Benedict XVI's successor.

Massengill was born and raised in St. Matthews. He served as pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church in Pleasure Ridge Park in the late 1980s.
