HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -
The preliminary hearing for an elderly man accused of voter fraud is set.
Russell Glassop, 75, is charged with voting via absentee ballot on behalf of his deceased wife. Officials say his wife passed before the ballots were mailed out yet her ballot was returned with her signature.
On Thursday, Glassop's attorney was in court on his behalf, and a preliminary hearing was set for March 26th.
Two other women were also charged with voter fraud, Melowese Richardson, 58 and Sister Marguerite Kloos.
Richardson, a Hamilton County poll worker for at least 14 years, was
charged with eight counts of illegal voting. The prosecutor's office
says Richardson voted twice on her own behalf and seven times on behalf
of her relatives in various elections.
Sister Kloos faces one count of illegal voting. The prosecutor's office says she voted on behalf of a
nun who also passed away before the absentee ballots had been mailed
out. According to the prosecutor, Kloos has agreed to cooperate and
plead guilty.
Richardson reportedly has a warrant for her arrest.
Kloos is scheduled to appear in court on April 16th.
