MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

An explosion at Candlelight Park, located at 1350 N. Barkley in Mesa, was called into the Mesa Police Department Tuesday night.

A detonated homemade device that was shaped like a pipe bomb was found by the Mesa Police officers at the park. The pipe bomb like device was wrapped in electrical tape, according to the Mesa Police.

A witness told officers that they saw a vehicle in the area that they did not recognize to belong in the area. The witness also told Mesa police that the vehicle was an older blue suburban with a lift kit and had a loud exhaust, but they were not able to see who was driving.
