Yarmuth speaks about assault weapons ban

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Senate committee in Washington approved an assault weapons ban, but it might be more difficult to pass in the Senate.

The ban was approved March 14. Louisville Congressman, John Yarmuth, is in favor of the bill, but believes it does not have much chance of passing.

The Congressman stated, "A comprehensive piece of legislation will probably contain poison pills that will keep any of them from being enacted."

President Obama made an assault weapons part of the gun curbs he proposed back in January.
