Batavia crash leaves woman dead

BATAVIA, OH (FOX19) -

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Batavia.

Police say that Elizabeth Jasper, 38, died Saturday morning from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 50. The accident happened around 9 a.m. near Pattison Park in Stonelick Township.

Jasper was driving a Honda Pilot eastbound on U.S. 50 when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a ditch and vaulted off a driveway into a tree.

The driver succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.

Police say that Jansen was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash is remains under investigation.
