Paul early favorite for presidential bid

Senator Rand Paul

FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) - Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is now the early favorite for the Republican bid for president in 2016.

Paul came out on top in the presidential straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference, winning a fourth of the vote.

Earlier in the conference, Senator Paul said the "establishment" wing of the Republican party was dead.

He finished slightly ahead of Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, another GOP rising star.
