Historic courthouse to get enhanced security features

The Jefferson County, Indiana Courthouse in Madison.

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A historic southern Indiana courthouse that underwent several extensive repairs after a fire in 2009 is getting some security upgrades.

The Madison Courier reports that the Jefferson County Council approved buying a walk-through metal detector and two wand metal detectors.

The council also approved hiring a full-time and part-time security officer for the courthouse.
