Cold weather in store for the beginning of Spring

Posted: Updated:
(FOX19) -

The good news of the day is that today is the last day of winter.

Spring officially begins at 7:02 a.m. Wednesday morning. However, it won't really feel much like spring.

Our average high temperature this time of year is 54° and, over the next 7 days, the best we'll do is mid 40s.

While we will see sunshine today our high will only reach the low 40s, while Wednesday and Thursday will only see upper 30s with the possibility of a few flurries thrown in for good measure.

By the weekend we rebound into the mid 40s but showers move in, especially on Sunday.  So, while the calendar is saying spring is here, the atmosphere is saying "whoa, not so fast".

Have a great Tuesday and enjoy the last "official" day of winter.

Better weather IS on the horizon.
