Name of pedestrian killed in accident released

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The name of the man killed Thursday morning after he was hit while crossing a street has been released.

According to deputy coroner Larry Carroll, Charles James, 44, of Louisville, died just over two hours after the accident from his injuries.

Louisville Metro Police said James was hit around 6:45 a.m. by a Ford Freestyle while crossing Taylorsville Road at Lowe Road. Police said James was crossing against the light.

Investigators said the area where the accident took place is dark and James was wearing dark clothing at the time.

No charges are expected against the driver of the SUV.
