LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - As soon as the Big Four Pedestrian bridge opened, complaints starting rolling in concerning pet owners not picking up what was left behind.

City and state leaders have warned the public that if animal feces on or around the bridge becomes a problem dogs will be banned.

On Sunday, several residents joined in a walk called Responsible Rally for Rover.

"We really hope this is just the start of a movement really, to be responsible pet owners, pick up after pets and the encourage other people as well," explained Andrea Blair with the Kentucky Humane Society.

While the Jefferson County side of the bridge is open, the Indiana ramp is still under construction and is set to open in August.
